The ESOL program at Eastside Elementary uses a pull-out model to serve students who qualify for language assistance based on the WAPT standardized test. Students improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking English skills using Apple Pie English. A language lab is also part of the curriculum. The Rosetta Stone, Deluxe English, and Eurotalk English Immersion are three different programs ELL students use to become more proficient in English. The ACCESS test is given each January to assess exactly where each ESOL student is functioning in the reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Eastside's ESOL teacher is Mr. James Hurst.
